Childhood interrupted (re-post)

I posted this photo, under the same title, last year. For some reason it touched me, and when I am touched I write whatever my hearts commands, but I couldn't find words for this photo, I thought for a long time and simply... words didn't come.

They come today in the shape of sadness. One of my favourite places is Lancaster (Pennsylvania), and I go there very often, at least once a month (last time was last weekend). The thing I enjoy the most is driving around the Amish country. Everything is peaceful and quiet, adults are always busy and children are always playing and learning how to work on the farms, rarely wearing shoes.

They are mourning five girls today as a result of a massacre, and this is my only way to show my respect for them. Yes, I am a dreamer and a Utopian, but I still think and will always think that if each of us did something to stop violence, violence would stop.

awful event, especially in most peaceful place in US. There are always mad people out there, the main question for me is how they get weapons...

Such a shocking tragedy, this murder of innocent children. Why do people do something like this? Why are they so irrational? There will never be an answer to this question

Both the photo and the text are precious. What has happened in your country is terrible, and there has to be a way to stop it.

I like the pictures with a message. So I like it.

Yes I've written a couple of things... the book Rafa talked about is called 'The Pink Gay and Lesbian Book', and I published it a couple of years ago (I was very young!). It had a reasonable success and now I'm working on other stuff. In my profile says that my profession is writing!

But anyway, if you want to write a book, you need only a few ingredients: a story to tell, constancy at work, and really really wantint to do it!

What a sad event, Jo ... You're right, everybody should start with his own in small things of life to change mentality, to stop the violence. Tolerance is a first step !!!
